PCMAN – Not merely just focusing on the computing industry, in partnership with its corporate citizenship programs, Microsoft has held a strong partnership with Real Madrid Foundation for the last three years. Microsoft has been donating software for the Foundation employees, sending volunteers and eligible local partners to boost their Office 365 Platform productivity, and increase effectiveness through better collaboration. With Microsoft’s connected set of apps and services, they have been sharing experiences and knowledge using a more modern working, collaboration, and teamwork model. Things in the Foundation are more efficient and effective.
Passion
“Passion Powers Passion” has been the collaboration headline. Microsoft believes they have a shared understanding that passion can move the world, and sport can be more than just a game. Sport, in this case soccer, is proven to be a tremendous outlet for social integration and economic empowerment.
Empowerment through the youth’s passion for sport has been used by other global organizations such as Right to Play and Hoops4Hope. They have participated in sport that serves as a catalyst for social, personal, and emotional development. The international Olympic Committee has also recognized sports’ ability to promote peace and prosperity in different geographical, cultural and political context.
Exposure to Technology and IT
Walking along with passion, the exposure to skills on technology and IT will enable access to a better future. In this highly connected, mobile-first, cloud-first world, it will also create paths to economic empowerment. These skills, combined with skills and leadership from sport, technology and sport can be a powerful combination to empower social change. The work for social good requires good partnership, and Microsoft’s ambitious goal can be achieved in a long-term view—hence a long-term good partnership should be built.
Over 40,000 children have participated in this project—children who are at risk of social exclusion in several countries. They are learning that goals aren’t celebrated individually, and win comes from great teamwork. They are learning more than just the technical skills.
Microsoft has been donating thousands of hours and more than $1 billion a year to more than 86,000 nonprofit organizations. Software donation and helps for nonprofit to find technology solutions are the catalyst effect in supporting their local communities work.
Both Microsoft and Real Madrid believe there are greater future possibilities for everyone, and committed to deliver it together. They empower people through their passion for sport, provide the tools needed, and hoping that in the end, these efforts will inspire youth not to only change their lives, but also those around them. Inspiring them with passion real impact towards local and global communities.
